On April 8th IAEE hosted its annual Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington D.C. The forum focuses on topics that are unique to women in the exhibitions and events industry. It is tailored for all women regardless of age, individual situation, or current position held within their company.

This year our Leadership Facilitator was Valorie Burton. She is a bestselling author, speaker, and life coach dedicated to helping people get unstuck and be unstoppable in every area of life.

Claire Shipman, co-author of The Confidence Code & ABC News contributor, held a discussion on confidence.

IAEE also announced the recipient of the 2015 Woman of Achievement Award. This year’s award winner, Karen Chupka from CES was at Women’s Leadership Forum to accept her award from IAEE EVP and COO, Cathy Breden.

The final discussion was a power panel of influential women leaders in the exhibitions and events industry. Panelists included Megan Tanel, CEM is Vice President of Exhibitions & Events for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and the 2015 Chairperson of IAEE, Cathy Breden, CAE, CMP, IAEE Executive Vice President & COO, Casandra Matej, Executive Director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group.
